DEAR READER: THIS IS NO TIME FOR SLEEP

This is no time for sleep.

Not for your intrepid DigBoston team, anyway. No no, sleep will just not do. If for no other reason, then because we’ve been combing the city for all manner of holiday related tomfoolery–and just regular tomfoolery–in order to bring you this overtly consumerist edition of the kind of shopping guide, holiday entertainment, and general thumb-on-what’s-happening breakdown of the week that will be.

Case in point: you need to buy gifts. We found gifts. Have at them, in whatever manner you see fit. Then, we’ve gone and put a fresh pair of eyes on the annual holiday tradition of seasonal-correct thespian-ism. No, not The Nutcracker. But rather, The Slutcracker, everyone’s favorite risque rendition of the Tchaikovsky classic. Also: we talk with the Harvard Lampoon-ers behind the Harry Potter/Hobbit spoof book The Wobbit (be sure to check out the extended interview online at DigBoston.com, too). We even take Manchester, NH native and object of Sally Struthers dry-humping affection stand-up Nick Lavalle to task over his facial doppelganger-ness to Dawson’s Creek alum Joshua Jackson (the similarities stop there).

Lastly, we made sure to round up our favorite unhealthy and decadent dishes to be found while procrastination-shopping at the Pru.

Where all last-minute shoppers eventually wind up.

Including us.
